2013 Grammy Awards Predictions: Who Will Get Nominated?

Last Updated on September 26, 2012 by

grammy logoWe’re still seven months from the 2013 Grammy Awards, but it’s never too early to start making 2013 Grammy Awards predictions.

The actual eligibility period for the 2013 Grammys is October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012, which means that we only have two months to go in the official Grammy window.

Last year’s big winner, Adele, is a favorite once again, at least to score a couple of nods for “Set Fire to the Rain,” which is eligible as a track from her album “Live at Royal Albert Hall.”

Favorites for Record of the Year include Rihanna and Drake’s “Take Care,” Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” Taylor Swift’s “Safe & Sound” featuring the Civil Wars, Fun.’s “We Are Young,” and the Black Keys’ “Lonely Boy” as the longshot rock nominee.

Potential Album of the Year nominees include Rihanna, Drake, the Black Keys, Miranda Lambert and Florence + the Machine.

Also in the mix for nominations are Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Lana Del Rey, Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, Coldplay, Nicki Minaj and Frank Ocean. Justin Bieber has a shot for a nomination in the Pop field, while Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction are possible Best New Artist nominees (though they surely won’t win.)

Other artists we’d love to see get nominated (but who probably won’t): Ed Sheeran, Sleigh Bells, Chiddy Bang, Of Monsters and Men, Leonard Cohen, M83, and Rodrigo y Gabriela.

    • She might be in the running. Ultimately I don’t think she’ll get nominated, but I like her style so I’d be fine if that happens.

  4. I love all the Haley love. Im a huge halien but I think her sales are too low for any nominations.Undone is one of the best songs in the last five years IMO. I hope she gets several nominations but it would not surprise me if she did not receive any.
