Believe it or not, the eligibility window for the 2027 Grammy Awards is now closed! That means we can start making some informed predictions for the show.
The eligibility period for the 2027 Grammys ran from September 1, 2025 to August 30, 2026. Any songs and albums released during that window are possible contenders.
Here’s an informed look at the artists who figure to be in the running for gramophones in 2027. We’ll keep updating this article throughout the voting season as the Grammy campaigns continue.

Here’s our rundown of all the predicted Album of the Year nominees, ranked from most likely to least likely to earn a nomination.
(We are not yet ranking their odds of winning the category — these are just the odds of getting a nomination.)
1 The Art of Loving, Olivia Dean
Olivia Dean is tailor-made for the Grammys. Last year’s Best New Artist winner followed up the success of “Man I Need” with “So Easy (To Fall in Love).” She’s a lock to earn a nomination.
2 You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, Olivia Rodrigo
The solid reviews for Olivia Rodrigo’s latest album should put her back in the running for major Grammy categories, after she failed to win anything for her last record Guts. It’s produced multiple hit singles, which should be enough to earn a nod.
3 LUX, Rosalia
LUX was the best album of the past year, hands-down. Rosalia sang in 13 different languages and collaborated with everyone from Daft Punk to the London Symphony Orchestra. The 1000+ new Latin voters added to the Recording Academy last year should help her score a well-deserved nod.
4 The Romantic, Bruno Mars
Grammy voters love Bruno Mars so much, he could get nominated for an album of sneezing. He may be starting to lose a little bit of popularity, but he surely still has enough Grammy support to be one of the top 8 vote-getters in this category.
5 The Great Divide, Noah Kahan
There isn’t a single rock album that has made a major impact this year, but the Grammys usually find room to nominate at least one. Noah Kahan’s effort is the closest thing to rock that seems likely to appear in this category, although Bridgers could take some of his votes.
6 The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift
Reviews were understandably mixed for Swift’s latest album, but it would still be an upset for her to miss out here, given her extensive Grammy history and her record four AOY wins. She’s unlikely to win, but a nomination is expected.
7 Lost Weekend, Phoebe Bridgers
Phoebe Bridgers won a whopping 4 Grammys in 2024 with her band Boygenius. She straddles the rock and folk worlds, and will likely have a lot of support from the Americana voters within the Academy (if they don’t go for Kahan.)
8 The Fall-Off, J. Cole
Given that the Recording Academy has added a ton of new voters from the hip hop genre in the past few years, it’s hard to believe there won’t be at least one rap album in Album of the Year (remember, there were a record 3 last year.) Unless Drake changes his mind and decided to submit Iceman for contention, J. Cole may have the best shot for “his final album.”

9 This Music May Contain Hope, Raye
Grammy prognosticators are loving Raye’s chances here, but I’m on the fence. I question whether Raye has the level of Academy support that some people seem to think. “Where is My Husband!” will definitely earn a couple nominations, but it’s a toss-up whether the album gets honored, especially since Olivia Dean appeals to the same audience.
10 Dandelion, Ella Langley
Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” was a smash and should earn a Record of the Year nod. But that might be the only track from the album that the average Grammy voter from the pop genre knows. Country artists rarely get AOY noms anymore, and Langley is competing with Kacey Musgraves for a spot.
11 Confessions II, Madonna
Madonna’s comeback album is scoring stellar reviews, so she has a chance here. But again, the Recording Academy added thousands of younger voters in recent years, and it’s questionable whether Millenials and Gen Z voters will connect with the 67-year-old pop legend.
12 Middle of Nowhere, Kacey Musgraves
Country music has struggled to appear in the major categories since the secret review committees were removed a few years back. Musgraves (a former AOY winner) and Ella Langley both have a shot here, but they could also cancel each other out. Musgraves is more well-known and well-liked by pop music fans, but hasn’t had the commercial success that Langley did this year.
13 Octane, Don Toliver
Likely Best New Artist nominee Don Toliver may have a shot at a nod if the rap members of the Academy prefer him to J. Cole and Cardi B. Toliver really broke through this year in terms of widespread name recognition.
14 Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, Harry Styles
Harry’s album didn’t produce as many hits as his previous releases, but as a former Album of the Year winner, Styles is still a Grammy favorite and should have a good chance to get nominated again.
15 Returning to Myself, Brandi Carlile
The Recording Academy’s recent efforts to diversify its membership have hurt acts like Carlile, whose audience is mostly white and middle-aged. This was a fantastic album, and fully deserves a nomination, but probably won’t get one.
16 Getting Killed, Geese
Geese’s acclaimed record is an example of the kind of adventurous album that could’ve gotten nominated in previous years, when there was a review committee to curate the nominees. But now that it’s just a straight popular vote, they probably don’t have sufficient name recognition.
17 Deadbeat, Tame Impala
Tame Impala’s surprising success on the pop charts in the past year could make them a sleeper candidate here. For years, they’ve been one of the most innovative bands in the rock music mainstream.
18 Petal, Ariana Grande
Grande has had mixed success at the Grammys over the years, and she’s competing with so many pop girls in 2027 that it’s hard to see her making the cut.
19 The Light for Days, Jacob Collier
Multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier is a former AOY nominee, and he appeals to the voters in the Academy who value true craft and musicianship over mainstream popularity. If a bunch of pop acts split the votes, he could sneak in again.
20 Am I the Drama?, Cardi B
As noted earlier, I do expect a rap album to make the cut. If it’s not Don Toliver, then it could be Cardi B. Despite the fact that Am I the Drama? didn’t produce a major pop hit, Cardi B has performed on the Grammy stage and has a lot of name recognition.

Analysis: It hasn’t been a great year for big singles. Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” was so undeniably big, that it probably earns a nom, despite the Academy’s current aversion to country music. Dean and Swift seem like locks, with Dean possibly the frontrunner. Raye could get in to this category, and so could Sombr, taking away the rock spot from Kahan.
Dean’s “Man I Need” is eligible, since she didn’t submit it for consideration last year. But I suspect her team may submit her more recent hit, “So Easy (To Fall in Love),” since it’s more fresh in voter’s minds. Or maybe she submits “Man I Need” for Record of the Year and “So Easy” for Song of the Year.

Analysis: Because the Recording Academy relaxed its Best New Artist rules, Langley is eligible, making her the big favorite. A lot of other country acts are worthy of consideration, like Megan Moroney, the Red Clay Strays, and Tucket Wetmore, but country music just hasn’t gotten much love in this category since the quality control panels were removed, so I don’t think any of them will get in other than Langley.
I also don’t see buzzy acts like Slayyyter and Adela getting in; I look instead to names that are more established, such as Sam Fender and Mariah the Scientist.
2027 Grammy Predictions: Leading Contenders
Taylor Swift
Of course, Taylor is a top contender right now. The four-time Album of the Year winner broke records again with her latest release, The Life of a Showgirl, even if critical reviews weren’t as kind.
She’s likely score an Album of the Year nod again, while the single “The Fate of Ophelia” could be a contender for Record and Song of the Year, and Pop Solo Performance.
Swift also tends to get nominated for Best Music Video a lot, even when it’s not necessarily deserved. The self-directed “Ophelia” has a good chance there.
And the Toy Story track “I Knew It, I Knew You” is a lock for a nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Olivia Dean
Even though she won Best New Artist in 2026, newcomer Olivia Dean didn’t submit her breakout single “Man I Need” for the 2026 Grammys, which means it should technically be eligible in 2027 instead.
The song will be quite old by then, but it could still be considered for Record or Song of the Year, in addition to Pop Solo Performance. But we have a feeling she’ll submit her latest hit “So Easy” instead of “Man I Need.” Her album The Art of Loving should be a contender as well.
Dean was nominated for five awards at the 2026 BRITs, and could earn that many at the Grammys as well.
Harry Styles
Former Album of the Year winner Harry Styles announced a new record called Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.
A 3-time Grammy winner like Styles becomes an immediate 2027 Grammy contender. The lead single “Aperture” feels fresh and current, and should be a Record of the Year contender.
Bruno Mars
Few pop acts have had the Grammy success over the years that Bruno Mars has had. The man has won 16 Grammys for his solo work, his collabs with Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga, and his duo Silk Sonic.
If his new album The Romantic and lead single “I Just Might” remain commercially successful, then you can pretty much pencil in Bruno for a few noms next year.
Olivia Rodrigo
The extremely positive reception to Olivia Rodrigo’s latest album should help her score several noms.
As of now, she’s a good bet for an Album of the Year nod. “Drop Dead” could sneak in for Record of the Year, but it hasn’t been the massive smash hit that would make it a lock. There’s still time for some of the other tracks to make an impact.
Rosalia
Rosalia’s LUX was the best album of 2025, hands down. It’s a brilliant, genre-hopping record that retains the core of her Latin pop sound while branching out into new territory.
On this album, Rosalia sings in 13 different languages. She worked with the London Symphony Orchestra and Daft Punk — sometimes on the same song!
The album came out too late to be eligible in 2026, so it will be a contender for the 2027 Grammys. Hopefully voters will not have forgotten about it by the time the ’27 Grammys roll around. And hopefully Bad Bunny’s AOY win will encourage voters to continue considering albums that are not in English.
Ella Langley
Ella Langley was the clear best new artist of 2025, but somehow she didn’t even get nominated for that award at the Grammys. She’s technically eligible for that award again next year.
In 2027 she’ll also be eligible for her smash hit “Choosin’ Texas,” which rose all the way to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, a remarkable feat for a country song that hasn’t crossed over to pop radio.
Langley’s sophomore album Dandelion is out now, and we hope that voters will make up for last year’s snub by giving her some love this time. She’s already gotten plenty of recognition from the 2026 ACM Awards.
BTS
BTS fans were optimistic that Arirang could get nominated for Album of the Year, “Swim” could appear in Record of the Year, and another track could get chosen for the new Best Asian Pop Solo Performance award.
But BTS recently said they will not submit their music for the Grammys this year. We’ll leave them on this list in case they change their minds.
Madonna
The great reviews for Confessions II should make Madonna a player once again at the Grammys, especially now that there are so many dance awards. She may have an outside shot at Album of the Year, but Best Electronic/Dance Album is much more likely.
Noah Kahan
There’s a notable lack of artists considered “rock” who are 2027 Grammy contenders. There’s Sombr, who is more pop-rock. There are the Rolling Stones, who are Album of the Year dark horses. And there are Geese, who are probably too under-the-radar to make a major Grammy impact.
And then there are folkies like Noah Kahan. He seems well-liked throughout the industry, and he’s in a good spot to potentially earn an AOY bid. “The Great Divide” was a Top 10 hit and should earn some love in the singles categories.
Kacey Musgraves
Musgraves has the single best body of work in country music since she arrived in 2012. She’s already won Album of the Year once, and her latest Middle of Nowhere is an impressive return to form.
Country artists aren’t getting much love in the big Grammy categories anymore, but Musgraves already has a track record and wider name recognition than someone like Ella Langley, and that could help her score another AOY nom.
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran is a four-time Best Pop Vocal Album nominee (and winner in 2018), so his latest release Play may be a factor once again for that trophy.
So far, the album has only produced one hit in America, “Azizam,” which stopped at #28. He will likely need a bigger hit to have a shot in any bigger categories.
Brandi Carlile
Rootsy rocker Brandi Carlile has been a Grammy favorite since she tore the roof off the building with a performance of “The Joke” on the Grammy stage in 2019.
Carlile was nominated for multiple awards at the 2026 Grammys with her collaborator, Elton John. But she didn’t get an Album of the Year nod, which is a bad sign for her 2027 AOY chances.
Carlile released a solo album, Returning to Myself, in October, in collaboration with A-list producers Andrew Watt and Aaron Dessner. This one is more understated than some of her earlier albums. It’s quiet, introspective, and beautiful.
Expect her to be in the running for awards in the Rock and Americana genres. The album’s most fiery song, “Church & State,” could appear in the Best Rock Song category.
Cardi B
Cardi B’s track “Outside” was eligible at the 2026 Grammys, but in 2027, her full album Am I the Drama? will be in contention.
Reviews have been mixed, and the singles haven’t exploded, but expect the record to have a great shot at a Best Rap Album nom.
Other Artists Who Will Be Contenders
At this stage, we can note a few other artists who could be in consideration for Album of the Year at the 2027 Grammys.
Ariana Grande doesn’t have the most impressive Grammy track record, but “Hate That I Made You Love Me” has been a solid hit, and could appear in Best Pop Solo Performance.
Two-time Album of the Year nominee Jacob Collier released The Light For Days in October. The British instrumentalist has become a Grammy favorite among voters who respect his musicianship. He wrote the entire album in four days as a personal challenge to test himself.
Mariah Carey’s Grammy history has been hit or miss, but she’ll be eligible for Here For it All, released in September. The likely future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee could be nominated in the R&B Field.
Lana Del Rey has a new album on the way. Lana is always a contender for Album of the Year.
Florence + the Machine issued a new record called Everybody Scream. It’s gotten pretty positive reviews, and Florence got nominated as recently as 2023, so Grammy voters still like her.
Justin Bieber released SWAG II just after the eligibility window opened up. Tame Impala made a surprisingly high chart showing with Deadbeat. Doja Cat has a new record as well. And Robyn will be a contender in the Dance fields.
Drake notably issued three albums, but he will probably stick to his policy of not submitting his music for Grammy consideration.

Hiii, Conan Gray just announced a new album and released a new single, “The Best”, I believe he’ll have a good chance especially since his fans, or Coneheads as they call themselves, have been pushing and hoping for him to win a Grammy, or at least get nominated.
It’s surprising that Conan Gray was never nominated for Best New Artist. Maybe at some point the Academy will recognize him.
Honestly, I think BTS shouldn’t be held back and “packed” into the “Best Asian Pop Performance” award, just because they’re Korean it doesn’t mean they should get scammed and not get pit into mainstream categories. I feel like most people know who they are and know that they belong to the mainstream music scene/industry.
This is a bizarre theory, and I don’t know why BTS fans are spreading it. The creation of the Asian Pop category does not in any way mean BTS won’t be in other categories as well. It simply depends whether their peers – the 15,000 members of the Recording Academy – vote for them. There is no conspiracy here to keep BTS out of the mainstream categories.
Hello, if you read the Grammy Rules on page 52, it says that BTS can either submit for best Asian pop performance OR best Pop Group Performance…..since they are both “performance awards.” I think that’s the rub.
Also, the Grammy Screening Committee has a horrible reputation of moving music submitted to different categories/fields than the musician submitted them to. So, there was a concern that the Grammys would force BTS submissions into the new category…except that a submission to the new category has to have meaningful amounts of an Asian language in it. And Swim, BTS’s most successful song, is all in English.
Either way, I think that an Asian category (folk, pop, etc) needs to be put under the Latin, Africa, Global, field. I also think that musicians should be allowed to enter two categories (other than album) in up to two fields. It’s the Screening Committee and the Rules that are restricting BTS.
However, the Latinos have 6 categories in the Latin, Africa, Global field, so there should be no gripe if an Asian category is added (for 2028) in that field. I hope BTS changes their mind and submits for Best Global Music Performance and Best Global Music Album. I think they’d be a lock for a nomination and for a win in both categories.

ENTRY LIMITS
The Online Entry Process is programmed such that it 1) limits entries in genre (excluding General Field and Craft Categories) categories to one per recording for albums; and 2) limits track/single entries to one for performance categories, and one for song/composition categories.
They can submit different songs for Asian Pop Performance and Pop Vocal Performance, and thus be nominated in both categories. “Swim” would’ve been eligible for Pop, while another song not in English would’ve been eligible for Asian Pop. It does make sense that an Asian Pop category, if they keep it next year, should be moved to the Global field.
Tanya Tucker just released a heartbreaking song called On My Way To Heaven and it’s a duet with Kris Kristofferson and it’s his last ever recorded song. I think it will get some noms.
