British tastemaking magazine Q named Muse the Best Act in the World Today at its 2012 awards ceremony, which took place earlier today. Frontman Matt Bellamy said, “The key to winning this has been staying together. We’re solid as a rock. Thank you.”
Muse have taken a completely different direction on their latest album, which has produced the electronically-influenced single “Madness.” The new sound hasn’t scared away the British critics, nor has it hurt their album sales. Muse also won Best Act in the World in 2009. Last year, Coldplay took the title.
Other winners at the 2012 ceremony included Blur for Best Live Act, Emeli Sande for Best Solo Artist, and Dionne Warwick, of all people, who was given a classic song award. Here’s the complete winners rundown list.
