Now that we know who the 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will be, it’s time to start thinking about what the induction ceremony will look like.
Will an ailing Phil Collins be able to make the trip? Will outspoken Rock Hall critics Oasis show up? Who will perform the tribute to Luther Vandross? Will Sade perform for the first time in ages?
Let’s examine each of these questions, along with some of the basic logistical stuff, like where the ceremony will take place and how fans can stream it online.

When and Where is the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony?
Normally, the ceremony bounces back and forth between New York City, Los Angeles, and Cleveland (the home of the Rock Hall) from year to year.
However, this year, the ceremony will be back in LA for the second straight year. The 41st annual induction ceremony takes place on Saturday, November 14 at the same venue as last year, the Peacock Theater.
Peacock Theater is the smaller, 7100-capacity theater located next to the Crypto.com Arena (Staples Center) in Downtown LA. It was formerly known as Nokia Theatre and Microsoft Theater.
Some folks had hoped that this year’s ceremony would be back in Cleveland, but the decision was made to stay in LA. However, a press release from the Rock Hall clearly states, “In 2027, the Induction Ceremony will return to Cleveland.”
Where Can I Stream or Watch the Rock Hall induction?
Typically, the full Rock Hall induction ceremony is available for streaming in its entirety (usually 5-6 hours long) on Disney+ as it happens. However, that has not been confirmed yet for 2026. The press release from the Rock Hall did not mention it.
The press release says the ceremony will “debut” in December on ABC and Disney+. This is usually an edited, 2-hour version of highlights including live performances, tributes, and speeches.
Who Is Attending or Skipping the Ceremony?
This is always the big question. Who will show up for the show?
Many of the artists haven’t yet confirmed their plans. These are the names we’re sure about so far.
Inductees Confirmed to Attend:
Billy Idol: Idol attended the ceremony a couple years back to help induct Ozzy Osbourne. He looked and sounded great. He has confirmed that he’ll take the stage in Los Angeles at the ceremony.
“My band and I, and Steve (Stevens), are in a really good place to perform at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” Idol says. “We’re super played-in. We did one of our biggest tours last year. We’re ready.”
Stevens told Gold Derby, “We were very adamant that our band, members who have been with us for some 15 to 20 years, will be playing with us. It was very important that we have our band with us.”
With his energetic and popular hit songs, Idol is the kind of artist who could potentially open the show.
Joy Division / New Order: Band member Peter Hook says, “Oh, I’m going to be there. Wild horses wouldn’t keep me away.” However, he also says that he won’t stand on stage with his former bandmates to accept the award, since they had a falling out in 2007.
So it remains to be seen which members of these two groups will appear. Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis passed away. That leaves Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris, and Gillian Gilbert as the question marks. Hook wants to perform. He says, “I’ll play on my own, if I have to.”
Wu-Tang Clan: At least some members of the hip hop collective will attend. Method Man gave the speech to induct Mary J. Blige in 2024, so he has shown a willingness to be a part of the festivities.
It sounds like RZA wants to be there as well — and he told Rolling Stone that his fantasy is for President Obama to give the speech inducting Wu-Tang. RZA says he expects the whole group to show up: “To my knowledge, I don’t see nobody not attending that. I don’t see nobody taking some type of boycott.”
Inductees Who Are Probably Attending:
Phil Collins: Phil is the sentimental favorite, and everyone would love to see him at the ceremony. He’s ruled out performing live. Word is that he’s been dealing with major health issues, and might not be in shape to fly over from Europe.
But Collins has recently been saying in interviews that he plans to be there. He told Mojo that he expects to run into Oasis as the inductee lunch held before the ceremony. So it looks like Phil is planning to attend!
Inductees Whose Attendance Status is Unknown:
Oasis: Liam and Noel are the other big name that everyone is wondering about. Both brothers have bashed the Rock Hall in the past. Yet when a fan on Twitter asked Liam whether he and Noel will show up, he replied, “We’re both going we’re soooooo proud and humble.”
Of course, you have to take much of what Liam says with a grain of salt. An off-hand tweet isn’t exactly solid confirmation that Oasis will appear. Still, we can hold out hope.
Sade: According to setlist.fm, Sade and her band haven’t performed live since 2011. Is it possible she or they will appear to give a speech, or even to perform on stage? At this point, we have no idea.
MC Lyte: Rapper MC Lyte immediately gave interviews after hearing that she had been inducted. She is excited about the honor and will likely appear in person, though nothing has been confirmed yet.
Queen Latifah: Queen Latifah is also likely to appear. She has a history with the Rock Hall, having served as the presenter for Missy Elliott’s induction in 2023. The real question is, will Latifah sing or rap in addition to giving a speech?
Rick Rubin: The enigmatic producer very much earned his induction by working with legendary acts from the Beastie Boys to Johnny Cash to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But he’s never been one to care much about fancy industry events.
We’d be surprised if Rubin shows up in person. But he’ll likely at least film a thank-you speech from his Malibu home.
Inductees Who Will Definitely Not Attend:
Iron Maiden: Not attending. The metal band is touring in Australia in November, and won’t fly over to LA for the ceremony. Band manager Rod Smallwood told Billboard that they won’t be cancelling any shows to attend the Rock Hall: “In accepting, Iron Maiden made it very clear to the R&R HoF that the fans always come first and that the shows will of course go on.”
Luther Vandross: Not attending (deceased).
Gram Parsons: Not attending (deceased.)
Fela Kuti: Not attending (deceased.)
Celia Cruz: Not attending (deceased.)
Ed Sullivan: Not attending (deceased.)
Arif Mardin: Not attending (deceased.)
Linda Creed: Not attending (deceased.)
Jimmy Miller: Not attending (deceased.)
Who Else Might Appear as Presenters or Performers?
No word yet on who may take part in the tributes to Iron Maiden, Luther Vandross, Phil Collins, or any of the other acts who can’t perform on the show.
Some have speculated that a younger British artist could perform the Phil Collins tribute — perhaps someone like Harry Styles or Ed Sheeran. For now, that is just guesswork.
